Sarangerel (or Saran as most would call her) was born to the Khatun of the Dazkar tribe, a tribe filled with fierce women who were the best archers known to any on the Steppe. Her unique appearance led to a rather difficult upbringing; her mother held her back from participating in traditional tribal activities out of fear that her looks would bring unwanted attention and perhaps it would anger their god since her complexion rivaled that of a full moon (while it was not unusual to see a fair-skinned Xaela, none had ever seen a girl with such a pure alabaster tone). It was around her adolescence when it was decided that she was not to inherit the title of Khatun when her mother grew old, her mother instead deciding that she would marry into another tribe to rid their bloodline of her omen.At age sixteen, many suitors presented themselves to impress her and her father, promising bride prices of all kinds. This obviously failed, the young woman escaping her homeland and therefore banishing herself from ever returning.

Saran wandered for what seemed like ages, finally coming across a band of men in the wilds of Othard. At this point she was starving, dirty and scared out of her wits. They saw her, and their leader took pity on her, seeing nothing but a terrified young girl that was obviously lost and meant them no harm, despite the fact she could not communicate with them. They devised a plan—take her with them, to nurture her and allow her to grow to her full potential. She was soft-faced and gentle-spoken with a bit of a deeper register. A perfect candidate to become a foreign ambassador to sway the Xaela for their country—Garlemald.Saran was quickly taken away to Kugane, now a long-term resident at the Garlean Embassy under the watchful eye of her new "family".Over the next several years, Saran learned the finer points of the common language, also being taught to read and write. She quickly mastered the art of persuasion, gaining the respect of many with her honesty and even sharper tongue. With this came an invitation for her to come to the capitol, to cement herself within the Garlean ranks.Naturally, this invention was of the highest honor—and the only acceptable answer was "yes"...

Then, life as she knew it abruptly ended. Othard and Hingashi by extension had been "liberated" by outside forces. Those she had called friends for years seemingly disappeared overnight, leaving her behind. She was once again alone and afraid. She wandered the streets for a few days, realizing her days of diplomacy were over, and that a new start was in need.Naturally, she used the last bit of money she had to purchase herself safe passage to a far off land—Eorzea. She had heard many stories from the soldiers she had worked with, and how this land was supposed to be annexed but there were some "complications", or so they claimed. To say this new life was overwhelming was an understatement, and is still a struggle to this very day.She has since learned of the atrocities committed by those she once considered family, and revokes any sympathy she once had for the Empire and its ruling family.Saran now works a few odd jobs here and there, but spends a majority of time leaning into her favorite hobby of sewing and tailoring. She often wonders what her next calling or adventure will be...

Upon accepting the invitation to the capital, Saran was quickly taken away to Ilsabard to complete her official citizenship paperwork as well as complete her basic training, spanning over a year or so.She was taken under the wing of the Populares, a political party populated by those who favored diplomacy over the usual show of force the Empire favored.Saran became quickly popular with both the group and the general population—her kindness knew no bounds, even in the face of ridicule and sometimes blatant hate speech. This, however, did not come without cost. At the request of her Legatus, and perhaps as a show of loyalty, Saran underwent a medical procedure to dock her tail. Due to the lack of knowledge on Auri anatomy, the spinal cord was damaged, leaving the woman terribly scarred and with a permanent limp. She has undying loyalty to her country, regardless. She follows orders without question, though she has been known to critically question the methods used from time to time.Quarterly trips are made back to Hingashi/Othard, holding hope that some day Saran can convince the people she left behind to join under the guiding hand of Garlemald...
